Wedding at the University of Michigan League Ballroom in downtown Ann Arbor

Have you ever dreamed of love intertwining with magic, creating a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere? Well, let me tell you about a recent wedding I had the privilege of capturing at the University of Michigan League Ballroom in downtown Ann Arbor.

As I entered the ballroom, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the space. The high ceilings adorned with sparkling chandeliers, the elegant architecture, and the warm ambiance filled with love and celebration. It was as if the walls themselves were whispering tales of love and devotion.

The bride, with her flowing gown and radiant smile, looked like a vision straight out of a fairytale. Her groom, standing beside her with eyes filled with adoration, was the perfect match to her beauty. Together, they exuded a sense of timeless romance that was infectious to all those present.

As I began capturing moments of their love and devotion, I couldn't help but be swept away by the magic of the day. Every glance, every touch, every smile was a testament to the deep connection between the couple. It was a joy to witness and an honor to document.

As the day unfolded, I found myself lost in the beauty of the moments I was capturing. The laughter, the tears, the joy – each frame told a story of love that would last a lifetime. And as I looked through my lens, I couldn't help but feel grateful to be a witness to such a magical union.

In the end, as the sun began to set and the stars twinkled overhead, I knew that I had captured something truly special. The love that permeated the University of Michigan League Ballroom that day was a reminder that fairy tales do come true – and that as a photographer, I have the privilege of preserving those moments for eternity.

So if you're ever in need of a Michigan wedding photographer who can capture the magic and romance of your special day, look no further. Because here at Lola Grace Photography, I believe in the power of love, and I’m here to help you tell your own fairy tale.

Lauren + Jake

Intimate Wedding at the University of Michigan Hospital

As most of you know I have been on an extended maternity leave since October after our little girl was born with congenital heart disease. I had planned to be back in the office by January, however, Simone was hospitalized again at the end of December for heart failure and had to remain there until she was stronger for her second open heart surgery. While it wasn't the plan it was very important to me to be completely present with her so I took a little more time off. I'm happy to be able to say she is doing amazingly well after her surgery earlier this month and we are finally home.

You're probably like "What does this have to do with Lauren and Jake?". Well you see a wedding photographer request was posted in a Facebook group I'm in and I knew immediately I had to be the one to shoot. It hit close to my heart and you'll see why.

Lauren and Jake got engaged this past January. At the beginning of February, her mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and immediately hospitalized and started chemotherapy at the University of Michigan. This was a shock to their whole family and Lauren immediately realized that the “dream wedding” in Upstate New York she had already started planning might not be possible. She called her sister on a Tuesday and said “I think Jake and I are going to get married this weekend when you’re in town.” Which thus launched a very quick wedding planning quest. And that's exactly what happened! I spoke to Lauren's sister Jenna on Wednesday, met them on Thursday and shot their wedding on that Saturday.

They were married at the University of Michigan Hospital on February 24th in front of their very closest family and friends. It was intimate and full of love and laughter and perfect. I am very honored to have been the one to capture their day and blessed to have met this family..
