If I have learned anything from becoming a mom, especially to a medically complex child, is that photos are priceless. They tell your story for generations and give us lasting memories of moments with the people we love. That is what I think about every time I get behind my camera because the people you love are important to me too. I want to deliver photos that you can look back on and feel like you were there all over again. I am a sucker an amazing sunsets, the slow moments, squeezes and snuggles, stolen kisses, giggles, seeking beautiful light and capturing genuine moments as the unfold.

I am a mom. I am also wife, friend, sister, daughter AND a photographer/small business owner. I am all those things and I think that that is my super power. I am more empathic, compassionate, patient, kind, joyful and willing to go the extra mile for you because of all those titles.

Everyday I am both a mom and a business owner, some days it’s 50/50 and some it’s 20/80. Somedays I am doing school drop-offs, kissing boo-boos, going to doctor appointments and making dinner. Other days I am off shooting weddings or editing away at my desk. But I am always trying to do my best.

If you are still reading, thank you for making it this far! I totally understand after reading this if you decide that I am not the photographer for you, that’s okay! But if you love my work and this felt like something you can understand, then I would love the opportunity to work with you to make magical and meaningful photos for you to cherish for a lifetime.

Fun fact

Something I frequently get asked is “who is Lola?”. When trying to figure out what to name my business many years ago I discovered using my name, Hannah Grace Photography, was already a taken. I had a pet rabbit at the time that was the love of my life named Lola. Once I got Lola Grace in my head I ran with it and it’s stuck ever since.

Even more…

Surprising enough photography was not what I thought I would do for a career growing up, let alone owning a small business. My education and background is in Web Design. I started taking college classes when I was a sophomore in high school because I was sure that that is what I wanted to do. I graduated high school and college at the same time and started working at Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor in their merchandizing department right away. I was mostly doing graphic design work but quickly moved onto helping create their very first website. I worked at Zingerman’s over the next 11 years, eventually becoming the Web Designer for all the businesses. So how did photography come into my life? At some point during that time I picked up my first DSLR camera, something about it quickly drew me in and I think my knowledge of technology helped me pick it up quickly. After shooting my first wedding on 2011 I was hooked. I continued working at Zingerman’s and started my business on the side, I eventually left my job to pursue my photography business full-time the Fall of 2016.
