I wanted to share with you all about a recent summer engagement session I had at Highland State Recreation Area. Let me just say, it was absolutely stunning! The golden hour light was pure magic and made for some dreamy photos.
The couple I was working with was so in love and you could just feel the happiness radiating off of them. We wandered through the tall grasses and down by the lake, capturing some truly beautiful moments. The natural beauty of the area provided the perfect backdrop for their love story to unfold.
I always feel so grateful to be able to capture these special moments for couples. Being a Michigan wedding photographer, I get to witness love in all its forms and it never fails to inspire me. Whether it's a rustic barn wedding or a chic city affair, each couple brings their own unique energy to the photos.
I can't wait to see where this journey takes me next, but for now, I'll just be soaking in the joy and love of these summer engagement sessions at Highland State Recreation Area. ❤️
Holly + Daniel
Holly and Daniel met at Michigan State University Campus (MSU) while in college and we had so much fun exploring some amazing gardens on campus with them. The MSU Horticulture Gardens, MSU 4-H Children's Garden and Clarence E. Lewis Landscape Arboretum were stunning at every turn and I can’t wait to go back. While it was much overcast and much colder than we anticipated, I am so obsessed with how beautiful it all turned out. These two are getting married at Cornman Farms next year and I can’t wait to be there for that magical day too.

Ann Arbor Summer Engagement Session
I know I say this about every post on here but this session and these two are some of my favorite people. Not only as they just wonderful people but they also put their full trust in me to create some magic. I took them around some of my favorite places around Ann Arbor; the Arb and Peony Garden, the Law Quad and Michigan Stadium.
What I hear most often from couples after their engagement session is that it was more than fun than they thought it was going to be. I always tell couples at the beginning of a shoot, lean into the awkward. What that mean? If feeling awkward makes you laugh, do it! If you want to kiss, do it! If you want to snuggle, do it! I am always there for direction but these moments I cannot create, they happen. You make it happen, I am just there to capture the magic!
