When I talked to Ryan about his plan to surprise his girlfriend with a proposal at the Creature Conservancy, I knew I had to be the one to capture it! We had planned it out to be personal, fun, and a little whimsical with a story for cover while the Haley and Ryan took a tour of the conservancy.

When Ryan and Haley arrived, she was totally unaware of what was coming. Ryan gave a little signal to the staff, and the sloth was ready to make its entrance. Then it happened—Ryan got down on one knee. Haley’s reaction was priceless—so full of joy and surprise! It went off perfectly!

Afterward, we headed outside to capture some “just engaged” photos while they celebrated. Their excitement and happiness were contagious, and it reminded me why I love doing what I do—capturing real, joyful moments that become memories they’ll treasure forever.
