2020 Recap

I can’t believe it’s almost February 2021 already… I can’t believe we made it through 2020. It was both beautiful in so many ways and also really freaking hard. But I probably don’t need to tell you that!

For me last year started off like normal, I had January and February full of amazing love stories. In March, my daughter had her third open-heart surgery so I had already planned on taking the month off for her recovery. Little did we all know that the world would shut down during her hospital stay. Like everyone else, when she was discharged we went home to be isolated for many months. Once we finally made it to July and it was safe to resume weddings, it was full steam ahead until December. Even with all cancelations and reschedules, I still got to witness and capture over 70 weddings in 2020, all were incredibly intimate and insanely special! Special shoutout to Cornman Farms for everything they did to make sure we could all do our jobs safely.

I do have to say as a germophobe, I really thrived with my masks and excessive hand sanitizer!!

That brings me back to this new year. Mostly all of my winter weddings were canceled, so I feel like I went from 100 to zero very quickly. I have never had an off-season before so this time being “off” has been a little weird but I am trying to embrace this rest with my whole heart. I’ve been getting in all the extra snuggles under cozy blankets with my family, so much hot cocoa, movie nights, phone on do not disturb, and sunny snowy days spent outside. It’s been a lovely and much-needed break.

You may have also noticed that I did some rebranding and changed my logo. I can’t just do nothing for too long and once I got it on my mind I couldn’t let it go! It also felt so great to work on something that combined my two favorite things web design and photography. I pulled together this inspiration board below and spent the whole day working on the changes. As I have gotten older and my business has grown, I have made changes along the way as I have evolved. I am obsessed and I think this look is here to stay!

Okay, ready for some pretty pictures? Here are some of my favorite images from 2020. If you make it all the way to the end, the last one is very special!

Thank you for the continued support!

If I have learned anything from becoming a mom, especially to a medically complex child, is that photos are priceless. They tell your story for generations and give us lasting memories of moments with the people we love. That is what I think about every time I get behind my camera because the people you love are important to me too. I want to deliver photos that you can look back on and feel like you were there all over again. I am a sucker an amazing sunsets, the slow moments, squeezes and snuggles, stolen kisses, giggles, seeking beautiful light and capturing genuine moments as the unfold.
