Julia + Chris

Julia and Chris were married at Zingerman's Cornman Farms back in May and it was bursting with love!! From their playful nature, wonderful family and how happy they made one another, I feel so blessed to be able to have captured it. Their love story is so unique that I asked them to write it for me to include below as well as the history of her amazing headpiece.

Their Love Story

"I first noticed Chris in eighth-grade jazz band: even though he was too afraid to say hello, he always managed to snag the seat next to her. Our first date was at the Plymouth Ice Festival; this is what stuck in Chris’s mind five years later when I decided that subtle hints at an engagement weren’t enough. Determined to salvage the element of surprise, Chris discovered that their university had an ice carving team that competed in the festival every year. I was speechless when Chris, the quiet conspirator, pulled me past the festival’s barricade and proposed in front of a specially-made sculpture with family on either side. After eight years of supporting each other through middle school, high school, and college, Chris and I walked down the aisle into the next chapter of their lives together."

Headpiece

Julia's headpiece was first worn 52 years ago (January 25th, 1964) by Julia's maternal grandmother. It was worn again 27 years ago (May 6th, 1989) by her mom. The headpiece was restored for Julia to wear this year, including adding pearls from a necklace that was actually worn by Julia's paternal great-grandmother. Making both sides of her family represented in the 52-year-old headpiece.

If I have learned anything from becoming a mom, especially to a medically complex child, is that photos are priceless. They tell your story for generations and give us lasting memories of moments with the people we love. That is what I think about every time I get behind my camera because the people you love are important to me too. I want to deliver photos that you can look back on and feel like you were there all over again. I am a sucker an amazing sunsets, the slow moments, squeezes and snuggles, stolen kisses, giggles, seeking beautiful light and capturing genuine moments as the unfold.
